To the Honduran People:

I accuse Jorge Canahuati Larach, Maria Antonia de Fuentes, Ana Morales, Nelson Garcia of attempting to manipulate public opinion to justify a campaign of terror in Bajo Aguan AGAINST Honduran peasants.

The campaign entitled 'TERROR EN EL BAJO AGUÁN' is an invention of Jorge Canahuati Larach, with the participation of these three evil Hondurans who are incapable of running a decent behavior, and run to meet the ominous wishes of his Arabic employer, thereby distortingthe facts, and also ruining the circulation of this newspaper that each day that passes loses credibility.

This series of stories are blatant lies. They have launched a campaign to ignite Honduras, and start a scorched earth strategy. I work in the press, in an editorial position that allows me to access confidential material. I want you to know that all these stories are pure invention. The stories are 'bettered and spiced' in the editorial room, with the intention of changing public opinion towards a campaign to terrorize the reader. There is no guerrilla movement. Yes there are a few farmers with small arms, but such weapons are anywhere throughout Honduras. A gang member from any district has better weapons than these people. The gang members today go around in luxury cars and carry heavy weapons BETTER THAN THOSE USED BY THE POLICE. A few armed peasants then should not lead to a STATE OF TERROR. The number of armed gang members in Honduras, along with the high number of drug traffickers, both groups of highly hazardous, represent a far greater danger to the citizens of Honduras than a few farmers in a remote area of the north coast.

I am considering resigning because I do not want to get involved in making such misrepresentations. But it is not easy, because if I go for this reason I have to leave the country because I feel a great fear of reprisals that could trigger Larach Jorge Canahuati against me. I'm no hero, my name will remain hidden, I have family and I will not risk it. They can say whatever they want, I do not care. I do what I can. And do not ask for evidence that there is none. All who work in the press know that the stories are ALWAYS manipulated to the taste of MARIA ANTONIA, a really imaginative falsifier, and above all, to the taste of Don Jorge. We know that his friends in the oil palm are giving him millions for this reason, it is good business for him. I have pangs of conscience for my work within this context. But little can I do to remedy the situation. If I do not like what's going on, I am going to the street, and another person will come to do what I do.

But whatever you do DO NOT SUPPORT THOSE WHO WANT TO SEE THE BLOOD RUN IN OUR COUNTRY.

Acuso a Jorge Canahuati Larach, a Maria Antonia de Fuentes, a Ana Morales, y a Nelson García de INTENTAR MANIPULAR LA OPINIÓN PÚBLICA PARA JUSTIFICAR UNA CAMPAÑA DE TERROR EN EL BAJO AGUÁN EN CONTRA DE LOS CAMPESINOS HONDUREÑOS.

La campaña titulada 'TERROR EN EL BAJO AGUÁN' es una invención de Jorge Canahuati Larach, con la participación de esos tres malos hondureños que son incapaces de manejar una conducta digna, y corren a satisfacer los deseos ominosos de su patrón árabe, con ello tergiversando los hechos, y de paso arruinando la circulación de este diario que cada día que pasa pierde credibilidad.

Esta serie de historias son flagrantes mentiras. Se ha iniciado una campaña para incendiar Honduras, e iniciar una estrategia de TIERRA ARRASADA. Yo trabajo en LA PRENSA, en una posición editorial que me permite tener acceso confidencial. Quiero que sepan todos que estas historias son PURO INVENTO. Los reportajes son MEJORADOS Y PIQUETEADOS en redacción, con la intención de cambiar la opinión pública hacia una campaña para aterrorizar a los lectores. No hay ningún movimiento guerrillero. Sí hay unos pocos campesinos con armas livianas, pero esas circulan en todo Honduras. Un marero de cualquier barrio carga mejores armas que las de esta gente. Los mareros hoy andan en autos de lujo, y con armas de grueso calibre MEJORES QUE LAS DE LA POLICÍA. Unos cuantos campesinos armados entonces no deben conducir a un ESTADO DE TERROR. El número de mareros armados en Honduras, junto con el alto número de narcotraficantes, por ser ambos grupos de ALTA PELIGROSIDAD, representan un peligro mucho más grande para los ciudadanos hondureños que unos pocos campesinos en una zona aislada de la costa norte.

Estoy considerando renunciar, pues no quiero verme involucrado en semejante fabricación de falsedades. Sin embargo no me es fácil, pues si renuncio por esta razón tendré que irme del país, dado que siento un temor muy grande a las represalias que Jorge Canahuati Larach pueda desatar en mi contra. No soy ningún héroe, mi nombre permanecerá oculto, tengo familia y no voy a arriesgarla. Pueden decir lo que quieran, no me importa. Yo hago lo que puedo. Y no pidan pruebas por que no las hay. Todos los que trabajamos en La Prensa sabemos que en redacción las historias SIEMPRE SON MANIPULADAS AL GUSTO DEL MARIA ANTONIA, una verdadera falsificadora con mucha imaginación, y sobre todo, al gusto de Don Jorge. Sabemos que sus amigos de la palma africana le están pasando millones por esta campaña, es buen negocio para él. Yo tengo cargos de conciencia por mi labor dentro de este contexto. Pero poco puedo hacer por remediar la situación. Si no me gusta, voy para la calle, y otro vendrá a hacer lo que yo hago.

Pero hagan lo que hagan NO APOYEN A QUIENES QUIEREN VER CORRER LA SANGRE EN NUESTRO PAÍS.
