IHAH recognizes the work of El Heraldo in La Moskitia

Despite the solid refutation of the "Ciudad Blanca" claim by some of the most well-respected archeologists in the field (see, e.g., Good science, big hype, bad archaeology by Rosemary Joyce), the coup-installed leadership of the Honduran Institute of Anthropology and History is not only not correcting the story, it is celebrating it. Here is a letter from IHAH director Virgilio Paredes to Carlos Flores featured in El Heraldo as an ad for its "magnificent coverage" of the Ciudad Blanca story:

Quality's not so great (sorry, no scanner on me), but you can still make out the text if you squint.

...and on a similar note, Mirna Castro got her U.S. visa back.
