This Sunday will be a day for large meetings and discussion of the possible scenarios following the negotiations in San José. The highway blockades and other activities on the national level have been suspended and the men and women of the resistance will try to rest a little and see their families and houses that we've abandoned for weeks.

Yesterday the press announced that Zelaya was prepared to accept the seven points suggested by Arias as a negotiated exit for the conflict. A mouthpiece for the pentagon and the Central American right wing, Arias once again comes off as the savior of the region, a sort of psuedo-superhero [Chapulín Colorado] for the political conflicts of the region. Of all his suggestions, the restoration of Zelaya to the presidency is the only on that directly benefits us. The rest: general amnesty, a national reconciliation government, pushing the elections up one month, putting the armed forces under the command of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal, all are measures that go against the needs of the organized sectors of popular resistance, and against the demands that the resistance maintains. But of all Arias's points, putting aside the possibility of a fourth ballot box and the constituent assembly is the most important. I suppose Mel Zelaya remains consistent in his class origin and demagoguery, and now it is a matter of hours before he betrays the organizations that have supported him, a necessary price to save his backing in Washington.

Micheletti is aware that the groups of power that pushed him to the coup and encouraged him to stick with it are betraying him, he can see that they've pulled the political rug from underneath him, and it's possible that he will be the big loser in this adventure. Trying to avoid this outcome, he continues to hang onto power and ignore the San Jose accords, alone in the presidency with a weak and isolated government that is beginning to act desperately. When animals are corralled and feel desperate they are more dangerous, they act with more cruelty and that is what we fear.

The media continues to play an important role in the coup d'etat. Now the campaign is geared toward the xenophobic persecution of Nicaraguans, Cubans and Venezuelans who are accused of being the organizers of all the chaos in the country. Of course, they can't recognize that there are so many Hondurans who are unhappy with the way the country has been run, and can only see the actions as being carried out by foreign provocateurs against the "great Honduran family."

The Secretary of Culture has made the decision to close the National Archives and to prosecute its director under charges of sedition for having brought to light documents that show the dark past of the organizers of the coup. That is where the information came out reminding us that Romeo Vasquez was part of the "banda de los 13" [a group of organized car thieves], that Micheletti proposed a constituent assembly in 84 and more information available in the national newspapers. Numerous people have been fired and are suffering persecution at work for having openly opposed the de facto regime. The environmentalist Father Andrés Tamayo of Olancho has had to escape from that region because he is being pursued and threatened with deportation. And there are many more cases like these.

The threat to the women and men at the front of the resistance or to their families, the direct intimidation of these people by the intelligence organizations in now constant. Last night I was told not to go home because there were two men waiting for me in a car in the dark. I have no way of knowing who they were, but it is important to recognize when something doesn't sound right, and to know how to interpret those signals. Although I know my I have played only a small role in the resistance against the coup and that they're wasting their time spying on me, they have no way of knowing this and are running all over trying to construct the flow chart of the National Front without having any real idea who is doing what in all of this. I'm not staying in my house, but I will be keeping track of whether my nocturnal visitors return.

Este domingo será para hacer asambleas y discutir los escenarios posibles luego de las negociaciones de San José. Las tomas de carretera y demás actividades a nivel nacional han sido suspendidas y los compañeros y compañeras tratarán de descansar un poco, atender sus familias y sus casas que hemos tenido abandonadas por semanas.

Ayer la prensa anunció que Zelaya estaba dispuesto a aceptar los 7 puntos sugeridos por Arias como salida negociada al conflicto. Vocero directo del pentágono y la derecha centroamericana, Arias se perfila nuevamente como salvador de la región, una especie de Chapulín Colorado para los conflictos políticos del área. De todos, la restitución de Zelaya es el único que nos favorece directamente. Los demás: la amnistía general, el gobierno de conciliación nacional, adelantar las elecciones un mes, pasar la comandancia de las fuerzas armadas a manos de tribunal supremo electoral, son medidas que juegan en contra de las necesidades de los sectores populares organizados y de los reclamos que la resistencia está manteniendo. Pero de todos, el dejar a un lado la posibilidad de la cuarta urna y la constituyente es el más importante. Supongo que Mel Zelaya sigue siendo coherente con su extracto de clase y su práctica política demagógica, es cuestión de horas para que traiciones a las organizaciones que lo han respaldado, un precio necesario para poder salvar su respaldo de Washington.

Michelleti está consciente que los grupos de poder que lo empujaron al golpe y lo alentaron de mantenerse en él lo están traicionando, puede ver que le han quitado el piso político y es posible que sea el gran perdedor de la aventura. Evitando eso se aferra al poder y desconoce los acuerdos de San José, quedando sólo en la presidencia, un gobierno débil y aislado que comienza a actuar con desesperación. Los animales cuando están acorralados y se sienten desesperados son más peligrosos, actúan con mas crueldad y eso es lo que tememos.

Los medios de comunicación siguen jugando un rol importante en este golpe de estado, ahora la campaña está dirigida a la persecución xenofóbica contra Nicaragüenses, cubanos y venezolanos a quienes acusan de ser los organizadores de todo el caos del país. Claro, no pueden reconocer que existamos tanto hondureños descontentos con la forma como se ha manejado el país y solo pueden ver la acción de agentes “extraños” a la “gran familia hondureña”.

La secretaría de cultura ha tomado la decisión de cerrar la hemeroteca nacional y procesar a su directora bajo los cargos de sedición por haber sacado documentos que muestran el pasado oscuro de los organizadores del golpe. De allí salió la información recordándonos que Romeo Vasquez formó parte de la banda de los 13, que Michelleti propuso una costituyente en el año 84 y demás información disponible en los periódicos nacionales. Varias personas están sufriendo despidos y persecución desde sus trabajos por haber tomado posturas abiertas de repudio contra el régimen de facto. El ambientalista padre Andrés Tamayo de Olancho ha tenido que venirse de aquella zona porque está siendo buscado con amenaza de deportación. Y como estos hay muchos casos.

La amenaza a las y los dirigentes populares o sus familias, la intimidación directa por parte de los organismos de inteligencia a personas es ahora constante. Anoche me informaron que no llegara a la casa porque habían dos hombres en el interior de un carro esperando en la oscuridad, no tengo forma de saber quienes eran, pero es importante reconocer cuando algo nos hace ruido y saber escuchar esas señales, si bien yo se que mi participación en la resistencia contra el golpe es pequeña y que más pierden el tiempo vigilándome, ellos no tienen forma de saber eso y buscan por todos lados
construyendo el organigrama del frente nacional sin saber a cabalidad quien es quien en todo esto. No me estoy quedando en la casa, voy a estar pendiente nomás si vuelven los visitantes nocturnos.
